China Tomorrow – Building Innovation Links Between the UK & China
9th September 2009 Time: 14:00 - 17:15
JC Mandarin Hotel, Shanghai China
Introduction
Innovation is a key driver of future prosperity and is at the heart of future economic development. In difficult and uncertain economic times, it will be those countries that invest in and successfully exploit new and innovative ideas that will come out on top.
Further to the announcement at the UK-China Business Summit with Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao in February, the aim of the China Tomorrow initiative is to better equip organisations in the UK and China to work together on a wide range of innovation & technology projects and to commercialise the outputs.
Building on the success of the first in a series of China Tomorrow events held in the UK, this seminar in Shanghai will introduce the China Tomorrow concept and high level speakers will address some of the issues involved in making such collaborative projects a success.
The seminar will coincide with the visit to Shanghai by Rt.Hon. Lord Mandelson, First Secretary of State; Secretary of State for Business, Innovation & Skills; Lord President of the Council.
